The Art of Melissa Casanova

All Month

This body of work explores what is carried across generations.

Memory, place, and identity are not fixed. They are layered, inherited, and reshaped over time.

Rooted in Dominican heritage and shaped by generational ties to Spain, these works draw from both sides of the artist’s family, where fragments of the past continue to inform the present.

Paintings by Melissa Casanova and ceramic works by Virginia Casanova extend this lineage, moving between structure and intuition, pattern and form.

These works exist in transition. They hold what has been, while making space for what is still becoming.

Inheritance is not only what we receive.

It is what we carry forward.
