Natalie Colleen Gates, a Richmond-based artist and VCU Painting and Printmaking graduate, is showcasing her latest works at Black Iris Social Club for First Fridays. Known for her explorations of urban architecture, Gates' paintings delve into themes of social class, nature, and gentrification. Her art captures the structured repetition of cityscapes, drawing parallels between architectural elements and musical phrasing. This exhibition offers a compelling visual narrative that reflects the evolving dynamics of urban environments.
